What we have been up to

Life has sure changed since we have moved to utah, but we have loved every minute of it.

Something about being newlyweds and being surrounded by our family makes this adventure so much fun.
(I still miss CA like crazy!)

So here is what we have been up to in Sept...

I've been "making" dinner. you know, like costco frozen meals.
I make a really good order to cafe rio... daily.

unpacked my closet. okay so maybe jordan's closet has some of my clothes too...

visited my friend taylor's beautiful baby girl. I can't believe my friends have babies!

we watch a lot of football. its a marriage ruiner.

i made jello for a family party and DIDN'T screw it up!

my little boy had his first day of school.

we go to target a lot.

we went to sushi ONCE. so gross! HELP we need a yummy sushi place here in ut!

jordan and my uncle coach my cousin's soccer team. #soccermomintraining

I can't seem to decorate our room for the life of me. so sad.
Being a nanny means LOTS of trips to the zoo.

I did my good wife deed and went to a byu football game.

we got to go to wedding for jordan's mission friends.
i got bored and chopped my hair. don't get bored people..

Jordan gets us dirty diet cokes from the store down the street on his way home. heaven.

Fall is here and so is rain. We spent our afternoon drenched watching my cousins play soccer.

cousin day while grandma and grandpa are in town.

this nugget is 7. we loved partying with him.

in all honesty, September has been spent looking at wedding pictures. Obvi.

Wedding week: Endowments

(Please forgive the pictures in this post. This is a new low. I really should get better about carrying my DLSR)

The week of our wedding was jam packed!

Each evening we had something wedding related going on. We had so much fun celebrating all week. I was all about dragging the wedding out! ;)

The first official event of wedding week was going through the temple.
I won't go into detail about this because it is so sacred, but I will say a few things that were so special to me...

Adam and I timed our marriage/mission perfectly and we were able to go through the temple at the same time. It was so cool to prepare together and have him there with me that night.

(these idiots all got mission calls in early summer. we all got to take temple preparation together. Adam and I were the last ones to go through the temple so jon and dray got to be in there with us. Pretty cool. Especially for the three musketeers.)

I can tell you that I had the best feeling in the world when I entered into the temple and saw my entire family (almost! brad is too young and juju just had a baby) in the room supporting us. I couldn't help but think of how my grandparents were feeling as they saw their children and their spouses, and their oldest two grandkids in that room. So special.

And my parents were, of course, so happy. I can't wait for Bradley to be in there with us too.

It was a perfect night!

Jordan and I were one step closer to eternity.

Wedding Week: Rehearsal Dinner

The entire wedding week taught me one big lesson...

FAMILY IS EVERYTHING.

I felt so much love from my family all week.

It was so inspiring.

It got me so excited to start my own family with Jordan.

The rehearsal dinner was probably my favorite part of the whole wedding.

Jordan's parents did such a great job hosting the dinner.

My family takes rehearsal dinners pretty seriously.

I knew that night was going to be a "Hillary roast".

I was right. My brothers, Dad, and uncles were quite entertaining telling all of my quirks.

I laughed so hard.

But once the jokes were over the room was invited to give toasts.

I know this sounds crazy, but I am struggling to even write about this night because it is almost sacred to me.

The toasts by our family brought us both to tears. Or in my case sobs.

I just sat there all night feeling so lucky to be in a room with all of my favorite people.

These people shaped me and I am so grateful for them.

It was the sweetest night.

I will never EVER forget it.

This post could never explain just how incredible the night was, but thats okay. We know. Our family knows. Thats all that matters.
( one of the only pictures taken that night. I'm wearing my "MAUTZ" football jersey (it was part of the roast) and I'm crying. Pretty much sums up my night.)

Wedding Week: Bachelorette Party

I come from a pretty sweet family.
We are FREAKISHLY close.

You see, my mom is the oldest of 5 kids. I'm the oldest grandkid on both sides. Both sets of grandparents are best friends. We do everything with both sides of my family. Because of my age and my family's relationship, my aunts are kinda like older sisters.

Having a "family only" bridal party and being so close to my aunts, I wanted a family bachelorette party.

It seems weird to most, but to me it is perfect.

The ladies from my family and jordan's mom and sisters went to the melting pot for a girls night.

The night was truly amazing.

While we were inhaling fondue my aunt suggested that everyone go around the table and give me sex advice and marriage advice.

The sex advice was, well... vulgar (I felt especially uncomfortable because I had my grandmas and MIL there haha). I laughed so hard hearing their advice. Seriously, hilarious!

Then came the marriage advice...

I'm not very emotional but hearing the sweet words of wisdom made my cry so hard.
These women all have different marriages and I respect each of them so much.

I know that I am forgetting so much but I want try and write the few words of advice that I remember.

- Work as a team. Make decisions together.
-Go to bed upset. In the morning you'll feel better about whatever is bothering you.
-Be patent. He is book smart... he is lacking in the common sense department. (haha)
- Friends are great but your friendship with your husband is most important.
- try new things together.

ughhh everyone gave such amazing advice. I wish I could remember everything. I need to edit this post if I ever remember anything else.

Then came the gifts. I'll let the pictures tell the story...

(yup. sums up the sex advice...)

I'm so lucky to have such amazing examples in my life. These women are so great!
I wouldn't want to party with anyone else ;)
