Celine

I have been obsessed with my girl celine dion since I was a child.
I'm kind of an old soul, my friends listened to britney and I listened to celine.

Growing up my mom and I spent every summer going to vegas for dance competitions. While we were there I always wanted to see celine but it never worked out.

Celine took a break from her vegas show to go on tour and have some babies a few years ago. I was so sad to had missed her show.

When she announced that she would being starting a new show in vegas i HAD to go.

I called all of my aunts and we planned a girls trip to see celine.
I was so excited I swear I didn't sleep.

When we got to Vegas we were told that celine had canceled her shows for the weekend.
Devastated.
We still had a fun girls trip but I NEEDED to see celine.
My mom and I bought tickets for her show a few weeks later.
CANCELED!

I was so sad. I kind of gave up on it for a while.

Recently I have been dying to see her again.

I spent a chunk of time on my drive to Utah begging Jordan to take me or gift me with a ticket so I could see it with my mom.

When I got home from Utah I was bugging my mom about maybe having my dad and jordan get us tickets for christmas.

Her response was pretty sweet :

"UGH! I was going to surprise you... we leave for vegas on Tuesday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

Tuesday we got to las vegas!
I have a major love for that little strip. My mom and I have so many amazing memories there.
We know vegas a little too well for two mormon girls. ;)

When we checked in at caesars palace we were upgraded to a better room. Cha Ching! that view was insane!

I asked the man at check in 3 times if celine had canceled her show. NOPE! :)

We headed down to the forum shops for gelato and shopping.

Then in was time to see my girl.

I'm not going to lie, I was NOT  happy with the two most obnoxious and DRUNK ladies sitting next to me. They managed to irritate an entire section of the theater.

Even though those HORRIBLE people bugged me nothing could stop me from enjoying the queen!

She is flawless. Well almost... she really can't dance (like she could be taylor swift's mom). It doesn't matter tho! She put on an amazing show.

The next morning we went for a much needed massage.

okay and we gambled a little. You would think after our horrible luck on the penny slots the night before we would stop, but nope!

Now i'm home getting settled and I see this!

YUP. She canceled 5 shows starting tonight.
I was ONE DAY away from being canceled on for the THIRD time.

I am feeling pretty lucky right now.

This was the best birthday ever! I loved every freaking second!

shortest trip ever

Jordan has the ugliest/worst car in the world.

He LOVES it but i've always hated driving in it. I've dreamt of the day that he would get rid of it.

When we decided to get married and live in salt lake i had to break the sad (ha) news to jord that his little beauty wouldn't cut it in the snowy commute.

it was time for a new car.

we searched for a few weeks and finally found the perfect car for us.
we decided to think long term and get a "family" car because we won't be buying a new car again until jordan is done with dental school.

i'm not having 10 kids, i just wanted a little suv that would fit a car seat and stroller.

because we will be living in utah we had to buy the car in utah so we wouldn't be double taxed.

so jordan and i drove up on sunday, bought the car monday morning, and drove straight home. yep 20 hours in two days. Jordan has to get back to work and i'm so busy planning this wedding. its crunch time.

i'd love to complain about the longggg drive but instead i'll be positive and talk about the good things:

1. swig. dirty diet coke and sugar cookies. duh.

 2. cafe rio. it was even free because i have so many punch cards. woo!

3. sonic slushies.

4. entertainment. we spent a lot of time laughing. especially when we saw this guy on the freeway.

5. we decided to drive my car up to utah with a load of shower gifts and clothes and drop them off at our new place. i had lots of helpers to set up my kitchen.

6. most importantly, our new baby. we love it.

Andddd, jordy boy. He drove the entire way both days. I'm so glad i found someone who i can talk to for 20 hours straight and still want to talk more. he is a winner.

Our engagement pictures

Now that my invites are delivered it is probably time to post some engagement pictures.

My photographer Tonya is brilliant. She is so talented and i'm so happy to know her!

I won't lie, these pictures caused some stress on me. I searched for literally months for outfits.
It's rough being a type a bride ;)

In the end it all worked out great and we LOVE our pictures.

(I could have lived without the wind tho. so much for curls.)

and now i give you an obnoxious amount of pictures. sorry, it is my way of saving them forever.

Chub Chub

On July 9th at 3:30 am I got the text that I had been waiting for!

I quickly drove to juju's house to watch big brother miles while ju and jon went to the hospital.

Later that day Tyler Scott was born weighing 9 lbs 4 oz.

Oh he is the cutest chubby baby in the world!

I loved taking Jordan to the hospital to see Chub Chub.
Jordan had never held a newborn before.
He kept saying "he is so tiny".
I told him this is the BIGGEST newborn i'd ever seen. Totally abnormal for our family.
(my dad always says that jordan and i are going to have underfed looking lizard babies. I told Jordan not to get used to big newborns haha)

Oh Chub Chub! I could hold him all day!

Babies are the best! I'm savoring every moment with this babe before I move to utah!

Shhhh! Don't tell... tyler already told me that I was his favorite cousin.

my bridal shower

I really can't wrap my head around the fact that I just had MY bridal shower.
So surreal!

There really is so much that I could say about this night but I won't bore you. It was wonderful! Perfect actually.

HUGE thanks to my bridesmaids, aunts (this means you too, jenn ;) ), grandmas, mother in law to be, and mom. They all worked so hard to make it so special.

and now i blast you with too many pictures.

my bridesmaids.

amanda. my cousin turned bridesmaid.

carla. man I love her. this is my best friend courtney's mom. courtney is on a mission in russia and i miss her so much. never in a million years did i think that i'd be getting married without my best friend, but i know she is where she is supposed to be. i'm grateful for carla for helping out and making it feel like court is here. (yes, i make it sound like courtney is dead haha)

side story: This is a picture (from left to right) is of my aunt krissie, my grandma charlotte, jordan's grandma lois, and jordan's brother's girlfriend Brianna. For 5 years jordan has told me that our grandmas would be best friends. Well they met the night of the shower and HIT IT OFF! They spent the whole evening talking to each other. It was precious. I'm excited that my grandma will have a little friend at the wedding.

another side story:
Juju is about ready to pop. Her due date was a week after the shower but we were still worried that she was going to have this baby before or during the shower. thankfully, she didn't. I don't know how though? She worked her butt off planning this shower.
I'm writing this five days later and Tyler still isn't here! thanks for staying in for the shower, tyler... NOW GET HERE!

Grandma Rhonda. She helped so much with this shower! love her!

Al Pal! so glad she came!

noooooosha! my favorite nordstrom worker/friend!

Carolyn! So happy to have my midget here with me! wasn't it yesterday that we were 16 roaming the streets of NYC??? thought so.

martinez girls! i've missed them so much.

chey chey.
Jordan's sister, turned MY friend, turned bridesmaid, turned almost sister in law.
i loved her like a sister for years. we joke that i'm marrying jordan so i can have chey as a sister. can't wait to make in official.

lyndsee.
I don't have any sisters, but really i do. My family has been friends with the howes since before i can remember. We are freakishly close. because of this, our families have morphed over the years. When jordan and I decided to have a "family only" bridal party it was a no brainer to ask my "little sister" to be a bridesmaid. She is my sister and I love her.

Gabi!

Gabs and I have been friends since we were 10. We danced together and loved each other so much. In a way she was my second mom. She held my hand around disneyland so I wouldn't get lost, braided my hair etc. She is one of kind. Truly the nicest person in the world. I was so so so happy to see her at the shower.

 The sosas!

It kind of freaks me out seeing all of us grown and not in dance costumes holding our build a bears.

so many generous gifts. i'm so lucky!

one little shout out to my mom. she sure knows how to plan a party. none of this would have happened with out her. she's the best!
