my birthday boy!

Today is my Jordy Boy's GOLDEN BIRTHDAY!
(i had to explain what a golden birthday is to him. he thought it was stupid.)
Today he is 23 on the 23rd (pretend the balloons are gold. dang it, party city).

Making his birthday special when it is 2 days before christmas is TOUGH.
Especially because he isn't a birthday lover.
Oie.

Today won't be anything extravagant because i know he would kill me, but i am determined to make it special for him.

I just want to start the day by telling you 23 facts about jordan!

1. He is a brainiac. He studies more than anyone I have ever met.

2. He is a much better housewife than me.

3. He is a baby lover (especially my cousins)

4. He is a great example to me and our families.

5. When he loves something he LOVES something! He will tell you a million times.

6. Watching football is his passion.

10. He loves TOMO 7 sushi!

11. He isn't a napper (WHYYY?!?!)

12. He is the best surpriser.

fa la la la la

its my favorite time of year!

This is our first christmas as a married couple and it has been so fun celebrating this season together.

We have watched a lot of elf. i have watched it probably 20 times in the last month. not even kidding. It just felt necessary to get this shirt for jord.

we decorated a little early... like november 9th. whoops! i don't care! i love the way it warms up our little home.
we went to the LA temple to look at the lights (not pictured: temple or lights. they were a little underwhelming. )
My aunt and uncle went to vegas for the weekend so jordan and i inherited 5 kids. I took the girls to watch our neighbor in a christmas ballet.
The next night we took all the kids in the car and drove through the thanksgiving point lights. SO fun!

We went to our favorite place, desert star (it is a dinner/show where they do musical spoofs. we love it!). This show was the grinch and it was hilarious! i think we loved it more than the kids!
I have done SO much wrapping. Jordan NEVER wraps because he begs his mom or sister to do it. this year he was on his own and after 45 minutes of wrapping ONE present he was very proud.

I have been really excited to spend my first christmas season in snow (I'm going to hate the snow after) but utah hasn't snowed one bit!
last sunday i woke up to the slightest snow fall and i was so excited!
snow is seriously so pretty.
i think i would love it if i wasn't such a crappy driver.

now we are in sunny CA spending christmas with our families.
merry christmas to you and yours. i hope you are spending lots of time with your families and eating good food (i know we are!).

a week of gobbles

I was lucky enough to go home to CA for thanksgiving week.
Gah i've missed home.

There is no fun way to outline this post. It will pretty much be horrifically boring for everyone except my mom. That is okay. hey, mom! ;)

I will give you the highlight reel of the week.

It started off with a wild ride to CA. I took this picture to document the grossest restroom on the planet.

My first day home was spent doing the necessities. You know, hair done, nails done, and shopping.
For those of you who don't know, I HATE cotton. This was painful for me. ewwie.

That afternoon the girls went shopping and the boys watched the big football game.
Having been Tyler deprived living so far away, i couldn't wait to hold him. I held him the entire shopping trip, and as you can see, he is a chunk. My arms are still quivering. But really, could he be cuter? nope.

Sunday was spent going to church and then coming home to prep for the pre-school pow wow.
Along the way, my sissy friend and I had an "indian whistle jam sesh".
we were delirious and around a whole lot of indian stuff. judge us if you must.

The next day was the pre school pow wow. For those of you who don't know, my mom and i started a pre school 4 years ago and this is my first year not teaching. it is KILLER not working there. I miss my people so much. I was great seeing the kids.

another highlight was seeing jessie bear. Jess and i have been friends since high school. I vividly remember having a conversation where jess and i told my mom that we would NOT be married until we were like 35. my oh my, have things changed haha.
Jess is marrying a pretty awesome dude.
I have to make a shameless plug. Jess will hate me but whatever.
i'm a white mormon girl so i am clueless when it comes to rap, but jess is marrying an amazing rapper named bobby (logic). One day i was looking for taylor swift's new album (that is borderline embarrassing) and saw a familiar name right under her on the charts. no big deal.
anyway... my point is that if you are into rap then you should buy his album pronto. Especially the songs that jessica sings on.
they are a power couple, people.
*drops mic.
sorry, jess.

one day my dad spoke my love language by saying, "lets go get a diet coke".

all jordan and i wanted to do in CA was eat sushi. i know i'm a broken record but we miss CA sushi. jordan's crazy eyes say it all.

We watched elf altogether one night.

speaking of elf... it is kind of our favorite movie. I couldn't resist buying jordan this shirt.

i got woken up by my big little brother like this. man he has missed me ;)

thanksgiving was amazing but i didn't take many pictures. here is one of jordan and i messing around. i really hope he was being dramatic trying to lift me. happy thanksgiving from the over stuffed turkey.

This one i call the "story of my life". I'm just trying to take a picture and jord is watching football. typical.

i felt like chub looked. soooo full and soooo happy! (just notice the belly!)

this last thanksgiving picture is my favorite. my uncle came into the room wearing this costume. it was all too revealing. he is hilarious.

the last day in CA we went with my family and my bff's family to the LA temple to see the lights.

here is a little side story...
while at the temple, court saw a friend from school. she had just gotten home from her mission two days before. she served in my brother, adam's mission. adam has only been there for one transfer and they served in different areas, so it was amazing when she said that she had met him. she said that just 4 days earlier she was at a meeting and felt prompted to say hello to adam.
so cool! it made us so happy hearing that she loved the mission and that adam is in great hands. i know that we were supposed to meet her that night.

after the temple we went to rosco's in downtown LA.
so yummy!

my mom was a little sketched out by the company and location so she made me turn my ring around so no one would want to steal it hahahaha.
for those of you that don't know, rosco's is a soul food restaurant. they are famous for their chicken and waffles. yes, you eat them together. it is SO good!

after a fun filled week we journeyed home.

we hit massive traffic which made me want to die.
i hate that drive with passion.

but we made it!

thanksgiving break was so amazing but we did miss adam like crazy! just one more thanksgiving away.

i can't wait to be back home in 3 weeks for christmas.
